What is metaVENDOR?

metaVENDOR is easy to use powerful web-enabled networked vending system connected into a grid wide network. It allows You to:

- SHOP for ALL items listed in metaLIFE
- SELL across the whole Grid Wide Network of metaVENDOR's
- RESELL other merchant items and make a generous commission.

What makes metaVENDOR different?
1. Grid Wide Network
When you list your items for sale via metaLIFE, the same instant people will able to find and purchase them via every metaVENDOR belonging to this network.
2. Ease of Reselling
metaVENDOR provides an easy access to other merchant's items that you can resell at your location and earn you up to 10% of every sale.

  • COMMENTS enabled - anybody viewing items will be able to leave or read comments

 How can i search via VENDOR?

metaVENDOR has two different tabs tab for items and tab for landmarks.
1. Click on the TAB you want to search in:

  •   Store allows you to search for items sold on metaLIFE platform
  •   Places allows you to search for Landmarks posted by metaLIFE users

When you click on your chosen TAB – it will light up a bit.

2. Click on metaVENDOR and enter your search phrase in chat line, for example "dress" (do not use any channels). metaVENDOR will wait for your search phrase 15 seconds. To do another search, click search icon again.

 

How can i purchase items?

When you are happy with the results, click . Items are usually delivered immediately, sometimes it might take up to 1 minute. If entered amount is not equal to items price, money will be refunded to you.

 

How can i travel to places?

 When you found place you would like to visit, click on . World map will pop up, click Teleport to reach destination.

 

Can i send a gift to my friends?

Absolutely! You can send a gift even it's no-transfer. Click , enter avatar name, for example Pauly Richez, click , enter items price and click buy. Items are usually delivered immediately, sometimes it might take up to 1 minute

IMPORTANT : metaVENDOR will be waiting 35 seconds for every input.

 

What can i do with blue drop-down menu when i click on ?

When you click on logo and you are not owner of particular metaVENDOR, you will see blue drop-down menu :

  • VENDOR home - displays default content. metaVENDOR has a default list of content and showing it when VENDOR is in idle mode
  • Withdraw - you can withdraw money from your metaLIFE account. Enter the amount in chat line. You can withdraw money from each metaVENDOR that is in Second Life™.
  • Get password - gives you metaLIFE account password. If you already have it, this will reset your password and give you new one. Other way you can get password is using metaHUD.
  • My profile - loads your profile in metaLIFE website .

 

What else can i do with metaVENDOR?

Before purchasing items, teleporting to places, you can read comments of selected content by clicking .

Add comments to items or landmarks, just click and write text in chat line

Flag items. You will get a blue drop-down menu by clicking .

  • Free for L$ - mark item if it is freebie for sale
  • Mature - mark content as mature if it is on PG land.
  • Inappropriate - mark content as offensive.
  • File DMCA - fila a notification to Digital Millennium Copyright Act

 

How can i get a metaVENDOR?

To get a metaVENDOR, you need to teleport to metaLIFE headquarters in-world, click on metaVENDOR, grab a FREE copy. Good luck selling/reselling.

metaVENDOR help for Owners

 

Thank you for using metaVENDOR. If you do not have it yet, teleport to metaLIFE headquarters or any other Tool from metaLIFE in-world and grab your FREE copy.

IMPORTANT! During metaVENDOR initialization it will request permission to take payment from you. This is necessary so that the VENDOR will be able to sell items, may refund any overpayments to your customers as well as to pay commission.

 

  

 

What can I do with metaVENDOR?

Make money in Second Life!

 

For Content Creators:

  1. Sell your items via your own VENDOR's (all or select items). It's free - no commission will be taken
  2. Allow others to resell your items for commission (people can select which items they want to resell)
  3. Grow your Affiliate Sales Network - by branding your VENDOR's and helping your affiliates to grow your Brand exposure

For Land Owners:

  • Place metaVENDOR on Your land and collect commission for every sale you generate via your VENDOR's
  • You have few options of what you resell:
  1. You can choose to sell All metaLIFE items, in which case it will try to display relevant content to your land, making itself relevant there. Off course Residents will be able to search for anything listed via metaLIFE.
  2. Choose a matching Brand from growing selection of BRAND's and assign it to your VENDOR (if you already have a VENDOR which is preset with a brand, then just rez it and it will brand itself automatically)
  3. You can simply handpic which items you want to resell, by selecting them using a web form!
     

What can i do with blue drop-down menu?

During initialization of metaVENDOR you will get a blue drop-down menu:

  • All content – metaVENDOR will retrieve all items and landmarks that are in metaLIFE, You will be able to resell other merchant's items and get commission after each sale. To improve sales, metaVENDOR will display content relevant to your land. For example, if your land is tagged with 'dress', VENDOR will display content relevant to dress while on idle*.
  • My + All - use this function if you want to displays your own items on idle* and also gives your visitors ability to search for any content listed in metaLIFE. So you will be able to sell your own items and get commission from reselling other merchant items.
  • My selected – metaVENDOR will display your own items. Your visitors will be able search only in your items you have listed in metaLIFE. Selling your own items via your metaVENDOR  is free of charge. metaLIFE is not taking any commision in that case. If you don't have any items added yet, please click here.
  • Help – Get help notecard
  • Mature - if metaVENDOR is in mature land, you can switch VENDOR to list mature content.
  • Permit debit – you have to GRANT debit permission if you want to activate your metaVENDOR.
  • Cancel - If you dont want to select any of it, click cancel.
  • Restart VENDOR – if anything goes wrong, restart all metaVENDOR scripts.

*Idle - metaVENDOR switches to idle (sleep) mode in 5 minutes after last click

 

How can i modify my VENDOR?

You can do it your way: just find your VENDOR's in my VENDOR list and modify them:

  • Change front and back texture
  • Replace our logo with your one
  • Make your own buttons

 

In-World - just drag texture on selected part or modify color.

IMPORTANT: Your textures will not be saved, if you rezz metaVENDOR again, it will load default textures.

 

WEB form - go to my account -> my VENDOR's -> edit on selected VENDORS.

  • Region name - shows where metaVENDOR is rezzed.
  • Created on - what date and time it was rezzed.
  • Display hover text - by default metaVENDOR is always displaying hover text. It shows how many items are for sale, merchants names, items prices etc. If parcel does not allow any hover text, you can switch it off by selecting NO. All notifications will be sent to local chat.
  • Button picture UUID
  • Logo picture UUID
    • Download template for logo.
    • Create your one according to template and upload it into Second Life.
    • Paste picture asset UUID into field
  • Front picture UUID
    • Paste any texture asset UUID into field.
  • Back picture UUID
    • Paste any texture asset UUID into field

 

IMPORTANT: Do not use alpha textures for metaVENDOR front and back. Button texture is alpha and it is known issue in Second Life that two alpha textures on top on each other do not work well.

Can i sell my own items?

Absolutely! You can use metaVENDOR to sell your own items and/or resell other merchant items. Please read more how you can start adding your items into metaLIFE. Click here.

 

Can i resell other merchant or Brand items?

 Yes! Sell relevant content to you land theme by matching your visiting residents interests.

There are mulptiple ways to match what you sell to your land theme:

 

  1. You can choose to sell All metaLIFE items, in which case our system will try to display relevant content to your land, making metaVENDOR relevant there. Off course Residents will be able to search for anything listed via metaLIFE. Over time metaLIFE will learn more about your land, and therefore content will get more and more relevant.
  2. Find a relevant Brand from growing selection of BRAND's and assign it to your VENDOR (if you already have a VENDOR which is preset with a brand, then just rez it and it will brand itself automatically)
  3. Or you can simply handpic which items you want to resell, by selecting them using a web form, and adding them to an item group!

 

 

 

Can i refer people to metaLIFE with metaVENDOR?

 Yes! If any of visitors clicks Get metaTOOLS on your metaVENDOR, you will automaticaly add them to referring list. Please read more about it under Referring Program.
