With metaLIFE, you have the option of providing landmarks that shoppers can use to teleport to your location(Drunk from product listings. However, this service unfortunately has a L$10 charge per teleport. Because of that, the feature can't be used by smaller merchants, especially startups. This can really hurt the smaller merchants, as providing landmarks would be a very good way to build one's business, but if they can't afford this option, they cannot benefit from it.

So, my proposal is to either remove the L$10 charge, or reduce it in some manner.

There's a charge? I'd never noticed, think I used it 3 times in the past 6 months because each time I landed nowhere near the actual place I was supposed to.

Unfortunately, this charge is the only reason I'm not using the feature. Like you said, I could afford it if I were a bigger business -- it would be a VERY Affordable option. But since I'm not, yet, it would only end up putting me in the poorhouse. Laughing out loud

same for me, I do not advertise my LM because you never know how many people will use the function, sure you might get traffic, but if they not buy anything jow will you be able to cover the cost?
other side, if people use the HUD and it´s meant to easy shop, search and travel, but then see so many items where they cannot tp to the location, they might it find kinda disturbing or some might think the HUD does not work properly, ect

But how are these guys going to make money if they don't charge for something? They don't charge commissions on your sales or have listing fees. Where is their income going to come from on this part of the service? As it is you have the option of using this service free of charges from them. I think that's pretty darn good.

They take 10% commission on gridwide sales and on affiliate vendor sales (they don't take commission when you sell your own items on your own metavendors though).

Fillo, when they removed the 10% commission, they only did it on website/metaHUD sales. The 10% commission is still charged on affiliate sales, which is where most of the sales take place.

I know this about the vendor commissions. I'm talking about the web site which is a completely free service already. You're asking them to drop or lower the only fee they have for individual listings and its voluntary at that. I just think they are pretty generous already.

I have spoken to Robbie about letting us apply the land marks to individual items rather than the all or nothing choice we have now. I think this would make it easier on those of us who are concerned about logging in to find a huge number of teleports overnight.

oh yes payed Teleports will be an area which will see lots of improvement, and customizability, reporting and etc.. in the future.

For now I can say that when a person finds your LM on the HUD - the TP will be FREE and will work properly! Only when people are looking at you items and if you have turned on your LM advertising - the TP button will be enabled (both on HUD and Vendor) and in the future on the web as well!

So only people looking at your items will be given a TP option right there, if they are simply browsing the landmarks either via Vendor or HUD - then TP's are totally Free!

Empowering your Second Life: Web Marketplace, Affiliate vendors, Grid Wide Marketplace, etc..
