Example-how not to promote your stuff:
I just checked my e-mails and found this notice of an inworld message:
[6:13] xxname removedxx: Hi, check out my items on Meta-life.net if you get a chance
NO-I do not know the person who send me this!
I hate spam like this and most other residents, do too!
this is a new, gorwing and very nice webmarketplace, but this sort of SPAM, "scares" people away.
sure it will always happen, but I write this to all this sort of unproffessional merchants, to please stop such activities!
for me the reasons to contact other residants inworld via IM are:
-they are my friends
-I have a serious question
-they have a question and I answer
-but
NEVER to promote my bussines
there are plenty of ways to promote your bussines, so use them. BUT please do NOT spam
unkown residents
to contact your customers, LL invented a pretty cool system( yes sometimes they do cool stuff
)
create a group and send messages, customers have so the chance to join and leave whenever they want.
this is not the first time it happens, I had plenty of such thing and more worse from xs....
too bad I did not keep a hillaroius mail, from somebody unkown, askin if I can send him some full perm stuff I purchased on xs, for free of course
( I left a comment there) !!!!
just one of many examples
however, from now on I will collect these mails that point in anyway to ML and report them. because I do not like to see bad advertisment for ML and the serious merchants here who invest lots of time and work in their bussines and try to do fair bussines.

This kind of thing happens to inworld groups as well. People join, or create them, get all excited, and send invitations to everyone in their friends list. Sometimes they even bot invite everyone on the grid! Some very nice groups have gotten very bad reps from this kind of activity. It'll behoove ML to at least try and discourage such "promotions."
