Nokia brand joining metaLIFE

Some time ago Virtual NOKIA CEO - Digistar Brouwer and I sat down to chat. As always with this great man - discussion ranged from new age technologies changing our lives, to  realities of virtual worlds merging our RL, to ...(anything) :) Also were talking about potential possibilities - how Nokia brand might expand here in Second Life. As you might already know - NOKIA is involved with Second Life pretty actively, hosting virtual conferences, they have a Nokia SIM, they are creating items in Second Life empowering SL users in various ways.

In our talk, we have found one possible solution - to create a Brand within metaLIFE platform, so that people could join this brand and rez NOKIA branded KIOSK's selling NOKIA Items all across the Grid!

And so we did, and I am personally absolutely amazed, that Nokia has decided to choose metaLIFE as their solution provider, so here we go and present Nokia Brand to you - it's open and available for anyone to join. Join it, rez NOKIA KIOSK's and start making income selling Virtual Nokia Phones on your land!

One unexpected turns for me was how creative Digistar was, while playing with this technology. This is not a secret - Nokia builds some of the best phones in the world, so Digistar came with a very interesting approach, since metaKIOSK is made to be modifiable, Digistar tweaked it to fit and attached it to their latest phone - E71! Check out this set up in action live in NOKIA store.

I am amazed - at what some upexpected turns might appear as time goes on and people find various use for this technology!

Update: right there while me standing and writing this post, some people came to buy some Nokia headphones ..

Cool stuff..

Nice one

Nice article! Perhaps I could just pull a shameless plug here and let everyone know that all prices have been lowered, with lots of free items for sale for the sweet price of 0 lindens.

What I like about the MetaKiosk is that it allows people to leave comments on the individual products in-world, as well as the fact that the entire shopping experience happens in 3d as opposed to from a website as is the case with other systems in place.

Furthermore, I have gotten to know Robbie as a very pro-active CEO in development and innovation. He must have spent a lot of time discussing, reviewing, refining and improving his product and has got the vision to go with it.

And lastly, the flagging function ensures that everyone in the community can give early warning signs if anything is wrong with the listed product.

Nice job Meta-Life Team!
